Overview

Centraal Station
Beautiful, walkable city, pleasant even in the almost constant rain that is apparently typical of the Netherlands in the early spring.

Quick Tips:

Take the canal boat tour of the city, it's well worth it.

Best Way To Get Around:

Watch out for the bikes, but Amsterdam is a wonderfully walkable city. The train service is excellent, and will get you anywhere in the country you want to go quickly and safely.

Attraction | "Rembrantsplein"

The Rembrantsplein is a beautiful, well groomed little park named in honor of one of the greatest painters of all time. A huge statue of the famous painter is the focal point, and it is surrounded by flowers. Even in cool weather, it is a popular walking spot.

Attraction | "Canal boat tour"

Be sure to take a canal boat tour of the city. It takes about an hour, and you get a short lesson (in your own language) about the history of the canals and the growth of Amsterdam along the the way. The view from the boat gives you a different perspective on life in the city in modern, and older times.
