Rollercoasters & the Ballpark

A travel journal to Arlington by dailygrimes

After living 18 of my years on the south side of Arlington, the north side is where the "good stuff" lives . . .

It's a little hot in the summer and a little cold in the winter, but if you hit it at the right times . . . Six Flags can be a really great time for the whole family. The characters provide great fun for the kids (given they're not afraid of the HUGE cartoon characters) and the park has really done a lot of work in the past few years to weed out the "gangs" of teenagers given a $60 pass and a license to drive the rest of the world crazy (aka the kids that mom & dad dump off at the park for the day so they don't have to deal with them), so it's much more pleasant for families. The shows have gotten a little less entertaining, but they're also shorter which again, works well for families especially with smaller children who cannot sit still for an hour long show (or even 30 minutes for that matter).
