Charlotte Harbor Resort has become a firm favourite with our family over the years and we find it strange that there are so few entries for such a pretty and peaceful place.

The resort sits on the banks of the Peace River with some of the apartments looking out over the harbour towards Punta Gorda and others facing the pool. The whole complex is well maintained and the staff are most helpful.

The resort is ideally situated for touring the area, being only short drive from the beautiful island of Boca Grande. To the north are Sarasota and Venice, a lovely old town to walk around and hunt for sharks teeth on the beach. To the south is the family resort of Fort Myers Beach and the tropical islands of Sanibel and Captiva. A must is a visit to the Babcock Ranch just a short drive inland. One of our favourite things to do is to simply enjoy watching the birds over the river and then as the sun sets relish the orange glow that disappears to be replaced by the twinkling lights from Fishermans Vilaage at Punta Gorda. This is a place to relax, there are no organised activities or welcome meeetings just a friendly family atmosphere where you are made most welcome.

Quick Tips:

If you want a meal or a drink without having to drive, try the Breakers within walking distance down the road. Why not have a game of crazy golf next door and watch the sunset before your meal.

Best Way To Get Around:

Feeling fit? Why not walk over the bridge to Punta Gorda -- it is more popular than you would imagine.
