Experience Maine

A May 2003 trip to Rockport by ddt214

Quote: What a wonderful time of year. Not crowded, so everything was not open yet for the season. The Samoset Resort was wonderful. We visited the towns of Camden, Boothbay Harbor, Bar Harbor, and Acadia National Park. Our favorite restaurant was the Lobster Pound in Lincolnville. Golf at Samoset had spectacular views.
Best Things Nearby:Penobscot Bay, numerous lighthouses, and beautiful little harbor towns. Be sure to visit Pemoquid Point which is on the way to Boothbay Harbor. Camden is a beautiful little harbor town and our favorite. Best Things About the Resort:The Samoset Resort had a beautiful setting. Out living room had the view of golfcourse, lighthouse, and Penobscot Bay. Our room was roomy, but I would not cram four adults in it. The golf course was great and not an exhorbitant price. Resort Experience:Maine is a very clean place to visit and the people are very friendly. Lots of good seafood, especially lobster. Lots to do and explore. ...Read More
