An April 2003 trip to Branson by DMWheeler
Quote: Our stay at Silverleaf's Ozark Mountain Resort in Kimberling City, with visits to Silver Dollar City and the Branson "strip".
Overview
The cave itself is beautiful, full of amazing natural formations. The descent into the cave is an adventure through twists and turns; the climb up can be taxing, but worth the effort. Along the way guides provide interesting history of the cavern and formations within.
The fish hatchery at Table Rock Dam is a must see for kids and families. There are swim lanes full of trout of all sizes. You can feed the fish for a quarter; it's funny to watch the fish "flock" to where the food is.
Hotel
Our unit was not brand new, but very clean. One bedroom had a large Jacuzzi tub. However, it lacked a privacy door between the actual bed and the toilet/tub area. Not a big deal, one just had to remember to lock the bedroom door for bathroom privacy. Most of the units have very many steps from the parking area to the door, so be prepared to make a few trips for your luggage and coolers. Every deck has a grill. Like most of our neighbors, we took full advantage and cooked outside more than once.
This is not a luxury place, but a family place. The workout facilities leave a lot to be desired, but you can accomplish a great workout just by walking down to the dock and back to your unit.

I remember seeing Jim Stafford on TV as kid, but my kids had no idea what to expect. To my suprise, our nine-year-old laughed his head off. My much harder to please 13-year-old also managed to crack a smile. Jim's humor is timeless and ageless. His children are a part of the show and very talented themselves; his 11-year-old son plays at least four instruments. Jim also asks audience members to provide their own funny experiences by way of filling out a card. He reads a few of them at each performance; the submitters provided some funny comebacks at the show we attended.
This is a great show if you don't think the "hillbilly" humor of the Baldknobbers will go over well with your whole group.
