This resort is friendly to English speakers. The food in the area is unbelievable - great variety of seafood and the Catalogne paella! Every restaurant claims there's is the original -they're all different and all delicious! The hills surrounding the coast are dotted with fortifications and chateaux- lots to visit. Great cardio workout going downhill to the village and then climbing back up again. Ample free parking for your rental car if that's what you choose-we did. Thalacap facilities are first-rate as are the services.

Quick Tips:

Take the breakfast only option. You can always go to the dining room on any day, just reserve a place. The town is chockful of all type of restaurants and markets. Rooms have fridges, so you can stock up on your favorite fruit and beverages. Balconies are well situated with chairsand a table.

Best Way To Get Around:

Rental cars from Perpignan are probably the best. We went from Paris to Montpelier by TGv (fast train) and rented there (one and a half hour drive to Banyuls). From Perpignanit would be a half hour. There is also bus and train service to Banyuls and taxis in town.

Best Things Nearby:
The sea, the village, historical sights, fresh anchovies from Colliure (next town) have to be tried to be believed!

Best Things About the Resort:
Service, facilities, site and general area, so near the Spanish border.

Resort Experience:
Classical European style spa. Full treatments every day for those buying the program, and first rate sauna turkish and sea-water baths for those just taking the companion program. Very relaxed, quiet atmosphere. The village is compact and easily visited. All services - baking, post office, health care, etc are readily available.
