The Maltese Jewel

An April 2003 trip to Qawra by kit-kat

Malta was not high on my list of places that I wanted to visit, however I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did -- it was wonderful

During this trip we visit many parts of the island, but we also managed to go across to Gozo on the ferry that runs every half hour. This was a quick and smooth journey and once we got to Gozo it was a trip around brilliant scenery and the famous glass factory to see the work in progress.

Quick Tips:

A suggestion would be to visit the Bay Street Shopping Centre -- its two floors of shops restaurants and local crafts not to be missed!

Best Way To Get Around:

Having been to Malta and seen all of the areas, I would have to recommend that you rent a car because there are so many beautiful sights to see and so many things to do.
The Owl and the Pussycat Pub in the Salina Wharf was a great place to go and eat. It had a wonderful friendly atmosphere. The food was really tasty, didn't cost much at all, and they catered for every taste.
