MGM Hotel

A June 2003 trip to Las Vegas by Quint

Quote: Our first stay at the MGM and it won't be our last. Spacious rooms, clean facility, attentive staff and a casino that miraculously is void of tobacco smoke stench all make for a pleasant stay. Lots of culinary choices, from hot dogs to five-star gournet meals.

Fantastically, unbelievable, choreograpic acrobatics/aquabatics. So much stage activity going on at the same time that it is easy to miss some of it. We were in the 9th row, center. I suggest sitting no closer than mid-theatre to get a full panoramic view of the stage.

We've seen four Cirque du Soleil shows in various parts of the country. This one is by far the most unique.

Ticket prices may be a bit high but so is everything in Las Vegas.

Danny Gans (The Performance)

Attraction | "Danny Ganz Show"

Quote:
Danny Ganz is an outstanding entertainer with an almost limitless repertoire of impressions that he presents to the audience in a classical one man performance. He entertains with impressions of Sammy Davis, George Burns, Frank Sinatra, and a host of contemporary performers. This is a must show to see if you're in Las Vegas. Former pro baseball player, Ganz turned entertainer when he sustained a serious ankle injury. In his early show biz years, Gans did the warm up for Sinatra at the Sands many years ago. Now he has his own theatre at the Mirage.

Blue Man Group at The Venetian

Attraction | "Blue Man Group"

Quote:
This is an unusual three man show. Unique in its presentation, lots of drums, color, audience participation wrapped in paper, yes, lots of rolls of paper, wrapped around the audience . . . I couldn't quite grasp the theme. If you like the non-stop sound of beating drums and percussion instruments for the entire show, this could be fun for you . . . for others, there are many options for entertainment in Las Vegas, which I recommend.

Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino

Attraction | "Gladys Knight"

Quote:
Gladys Knight's performance still brings the audience to a standing ovation! A master entertainer, she mixes old and new favorites with vignettes of her life in show biz with and without the Pips. She shares the stage with her brother, one of the original Pips, who from time to time steals the audiences attention with his antics. Lots of love on the stage between brother and sister...and between them and the audience. If you're from the du woop generation you'll love this show. If you're too young to know du woop, go see it . . . this is musical entertainment as it should be.

One of the most outstanding productions of a magic show ever. The magical perfomances of Siegfried and Roy are beyond description. Suffice it to say that they make an elephant disappear from the stage right before your eyes . . . and the rest of the show is equally as spectacular. Go see it . . . and take the kids!
