The River Ride
Clarksville is a great place to go camping and fishing or just have fun. It's right there by Land Between the Lakes. It's within a 60-minute drive of the four major lakes. It is ideally situated near Barkley, Cheatham, Old Hickory and Percy Priest lakes, making it a fisherman's paradise and a playground for water sports enthusiasts. Excellent hunting conditions attract outdoorsmen from all over the United States.

Quick Tips:

If you have never been on a river boat I suggest you try "The Queen of Clarksville" riverboat. It is docked at McGregor Park on Riverside Dr. It offers rides from April thru September it's great. It also offers a Dinner cruise and private charters. Then their is "The Roxy Theatre" if you like the old theatre thing. It only has ten productions during the year though. After that we went up the street and found the Blackhorse Brewery. Clarksville's first and only brew pub offering beers ranging from light red to the traditional English Stout. It's great if you want to sit down eat pizza or play games.

Best Way To Get Around:

Definitely need your car to get around to do and see all the historic things in this town
It was awesome. They have a lot of the local events in the ball room down stairs and they also have a club inside too. It's located right by McGregor Park on the river. Just take the walk way bridge. We went down there and they even had concerts at night over the river. The rooms were really nice and the service was great. I think they even had a pool but with all the other stuff going on we didn't take time to see. I think someone said that they were changing names though to RiverView.

Attraction | "BeachHaven Winery"

The winery offers tours that show you around the vineyards and explain all the processing procedures then take you back to the gift shop where they let you try out some of their wines for free. Then during the summer through fall months, they have 'Jazz on The Lawn.' It's a cool time that I got to experiance while I was there. They get different jazz bands to come out and play. You just sit back with friends or your girl and enjoy the evening talking. Get there early though because lots of people go there and you want to make sure you get a good spot.

Ft. DonaldsonBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

Go and see Ft. Donaldson. It was the first battle of the civil war that was won by the North. It is free of charge, and it is on the water. When the battle started, it started as a naval shelling, followed by a ground attack. The scenery is beautiful and the museum and the cemetery are all free of charge. Located in the town of Dover 32 miles from Clarksville.

Attraction | "Dunbar Cave State Park"

Clarksville is beautiful during the fall season. You can sit and look at all colors of the leaves changing in the park. The Park also has a lake that you can fish in or just feed the ducks and watch the turtles. It's a great place to have a picnic and spend the day hiking and site seeing. If you get bored there is a great golf course right next door.

Story/Tip

Well if there is nothing else to do or you get in town during the off season then you might want to go to Nashville. It's only 45 mins away and there are a million things to do there. Visit the Opery Land Hotel and see the shops and river boat ride INSIDE the hotel. There is also a cool mall right next door to it and a water park about 5 mins father south on the interstate.
