An October 1997 trip to Bangkok by jurgen
Quote: Forget about the bad things you always hear about Bangkok. It's a beautiful city.. worth a visit.
Overview
Because after having visited Bangkok for a few days I really doubt whether there is another city in the world with so much religious buildings as this one. On every streetcorner, in every house, everywhere you look you will find a temple small or big. Most of the temples in Bangkok are still used and a very well taken care of. Sometimes it looks like all the gold of the world was used to create the thousands of temples in Bangkok. You might get the point already, whenever you visit Bangkok you should visit some of its marvelous temples, like the Wat Phra Kaeo or the Wat Pho. Close to Bangkok there are also some very nice sites; like the ruined city Ayuthaya, the floating market or the bridge over the river Kwai.
