Faminly weekend in Philadlephia

A May 2003 trip to Philadelphia by MaryJake

Quote: We decided to take a long weekend with the boys to Philadelphia. We went to the zoo and the city. We are from a rural area so the city was a new experience for the kids. It was great.

Faminly weekend in Philadlephia

Overview

Quote:
The Philly Zoo is a must-see. Just make sure you have comfortable shoes. Ride the elephant and swan paddle boats. Enjoy the day.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

Definitely need a car to get a round. In downtown Philly, walking is the best mode of transportation. They have a trolly too. Plan what you want to do, do your homework on the internet and go.

We had two kids and ourselves. We are spoiled with timeshares and like to spread out. Also, we like to watch TV and enjoy ourselves after the kids are in bed.

We got a two-bedroom/two-bathroom suite with kitchen/living room. It came with coffee and other misc. They included a hot breakfast each morning. This place was great. Checking out was quick and efficient.

They even have a pool in season and a weekly cocktail hour on Monday-Thursday evenings. We missed that because we were only there on the weekend.

A great place to stay and convenient to Trenton and Philly.

This is a great family type of restaurant. They have really good, reasonable food and their service was extremely fast and efficient. We were bone tired and arrived after 8pm after a long day at the Philly Zoo. They were the best.

Philadelphia Zoo

Attraction

Quote:
The zoo is great. It is clean and the animals have real nice habitats. If you belong to your local zoo, most have reciprocal arrangements that allow you to get in free here. That saves a bunch of money on tickets. You can bring a picnic. They have swan paddle boats on the lake. We stayed from mid-morning till closing and saw everything. Wear comfortable shoes, a hat and sunscreen. It is a real nice family attraction.
