Relaxing RovinjBest of IgoUgo

Overview

Rovinj at night is amazing. Just strolling through the marble-paved streets of the old town and stopping for a nightcap in one of the many bars can easily occupy you for an entire night.

Quick Tips:

Be sure to stay in a local's house. There are hotels in Rovinj, but they lack the flair and homeyness that you will enjoy by staying with a local.

Best Way To Get Around:

Walking, walking, walking. You simply don't need anything to get around this lovely town except your feet.
This was great. You can stay in your choice of several houses on the north side of town. There is an entire strip of houses that all have rooms for rent. The renters are charming, mostly Italians who love to rent out their homes to tourists. The bedrooms are huge, clean and the houses have amazing balconies with views of the entire city. I could live my life here! Be sure to actually visit the houses that you plan to stay in, don't make the mistake of going to to tourist office. You can get a much better deal if you deal with them directly.

Amazing PIZZA! Be sure to order the Slavonska (Slovenian Pizza). It is a pizza that you won't soon forget. It has peppers, prsut, and cheese, and it is the best pizza I have ever had!

Pizza Place on Alley

Walk along the waterfront north until you pass out of town. Here the beach is more isolated and the water is amazingly clear. If you pick the right spot you can swim with a perfect view of Rovnij. At night this can be truly amazing, so don't miss it!

Red IslandBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

Avoid Red Island. There is a ferry that goes there, and all the tourist offices will try to convice you that the island is great. But in reality, it only has rocky beaches and is much too crowded by the locals. I would instead choose Catalina Island or charter a boat to go to one of the more remote islands.
