Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

The only way to get around is to have your own car. Everything you will want to do is at least a 10-mile drive.

Best Things Nearby:Canyon Lake, all the small towns, the hills are very nice to drive through and sightsee, San Antonio, Austin, New Braunfels, Natural Bridge Caverns.Best Things About the Resort:Pools, activities, nearby attractions, location in the Hill Country.Resort Experience:The resort is very nice. This resort is split in two by a highway. If you check-in on Friday, you will be placed on the main resort side of the highway where most of the activities are located. If you choose a Saturday check-in, you will be placed across the highway in newer units than the rest of the resort with a smaller but nice pool nearby, or you can drive across the highway to...Read More

Papa Docks is a very nice restaurant situated on a hill about 30 feet up from the lake. There is indoor and outdoor seating area, all with an impressive view of the marina and the lake. The restaurant offers steaks, chicken, sandwiches, salads, and more. This is the closest nice restaurant to the Hill Country Resort.

This is an outlet mall shopper's paradise. There are about 250 stores total that include Pottary Barn, Tommy Hilfiger, Carter's, Nike, and all of the big names. If you like to shop, plan on spending most of the day here.

This is an awesome sight to see, Texas's largest cave network. You get see several different areas and lots of stalagtites and stalagmites.

It is always 70 degrees F with 99% humidity so it is a cool place to visit on those hot Texas days.

San Antonio Riverwalk

Attraction | "San antonio River walk"

Quote:
The riverwalk is definitely a sight to see. I recommend taking the river cruise first to get your bearings straight than take in all the shops, restaurants and sites at once. There are many restaurants on the riverwalk, something for everyone. We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe and the Tower Restaurant, which is in the Tower of the Americas -- both were excellent. If you don't like crowds eat early, the restaurants tend to fill up by 7pm. Around the Tower of the Americas are a bunch of beautiful fountains -- I've attached a picture of one of these -- our 15-month-old son loved them.

Guadalupe River State Park is located along the boundary of Comal and Kendall Counties. It was acquired by deed from private owners in 1974 and was opened to the public in 1983. The park is bisected by the clear-flowing waters of the Guadalupe River. The park is comprised of a 1938 seven-acre segment of the Texas Hill Country noted for its ruggedness and scenic beauty. Activities: The park has four miles of river frontage and is located in the middle of a nine mile stretch of the Guadalupe River. Park visitors may enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including canoeing, fishing, swimming, tubing, picnicking, hiking, and camping. The park recently opened a 5.3 miles equestrian trail that is als...Read More

SeaWorld San Antonio

Attraction | "Sea World San Antonio"

Quote:
I would definitely recommend Sea World for families with children ages three and up or couples. We took our 16-month-old son and were only able to see the shows and aquariums, which was great, but at $40 a ticket, it seemed like we didn't get our money's worth.
