Pucón is a place where everybody can find something interesting to do: skiing in the volcano Villarica or climbing it; rafting in the Trancura, the best river in Chile for this kind of sport; visiting ancient caves; or if you prefer to do nothing at all, you can lay down on the beach in summer and look at the lake and the typical boats; in the winter visit the natural hot springs; have a delicious cake with hot chocolate at the Hostería Suiza, one of my favourite things is when I return from skiing cold and tired, and it´s getting dark and almost always making a stop at this place where I eat a walnut pie with hot chocolate; you can also gamble a little in the casino or go dancing, or simply walk alon...Read More

This a nice place, not crowdy. It's part of the Hotel Del Lago, which is really new, a mix modernity and elegance. It's open all day, and at night until 4 am., and it´s located 3 blocks from the main avenue. Personally I don´t like gambling too much, I only played the slot machines twice before going dancing.

It's a really beautiful place. This outdoor hot springs is on the border of the river Trancura. So while you are in the pool, you hear the sound of the water, or you can go to wet your feet in the river(not possible to swim), with a hill with native trees in the opposite border. There are two pools with hot water, a pool with freezing water that is from the river, and private water and clay pools for one or two persons that they rent for hour. The hot springs is a hotel but is also open for people that is not staying there. The entrance costs about US $10. There is also a cafeteria. To go there you have to go by car or hire a tour.

This summer (Jan-Feb in Chile)the best places to go dancing were Kamikaze and La Cueva del Chivato, they are not big places, but now are the most popular. For Kamikaze the entrance cost around US$10 in high season and for La CUeva del Chivato it costs around US$14, both with a drink included, but in low season you can enter for a small fee around US$6 or even for free depending on the day. The kind of music is latin (not only salsa and that kind, also latin rock and pop)and the top music of the moment in the radios around the world like the last hits of Maddona or Robbie Williams, techno here is not popular at all. Inside the drinks are not expensive, a soft drink for US$2, a beer for the same, a 6 ye...Read More

For example, a rafting with the equipment included costs US $16. On O´Higgins avenue, the main street of Pucón, there are a lot of tourist agencies that offer a lot of different activities in the Trancura. One good tourist agency is Turismo Trancura located on O´Higgins 211C, they have a lot differents excursions to offer. If you live outside Chile, you have to arrive first to Santiago, tha capital, because there are no international flights, and sometimes some buses come from Argentina in high season, but is not a regular itinerary, so you can be sure to find a ticket.By plane from Santiago the cheapest ticket is around US$72 to Temuco ,the nearest principal city that is about two hours from Pucón, so if you go by plane, you´ll have to hire a land transportation in the airport to Pucón from Temuco ; Pucón also have an airport, but there are no many flights there and only in high season, is more expensive than the ticket to Temuco. By bus there are many options from differents cities in Chile, from Santiago the prices s...Read More
