Uncrowed Ft. Lauderdale

A May 2003 trip to Fort Lauderdale by gm43

This is a great place to go when you want to be out of the crowds of Ft. Lauderdale.

Take a boat tour on the Jungle Queen to see how the other half lives and plays on the canals of Ft. Lauderdale. A walk along Las Olas Blvd. and Riverwalk is a very enjoyable experience. Lots of great food!

Quick Tips:

We found that going to the beach in the morning and after 4pm kept the sunburn down and got us out of the hot afternood sun. The afternoon is a good time to go shopping at Sawgrass Mills.

Best Way To Get Around:

Driving is the best way to get around. Pick up a local "things to see" book at your resort which has maps and places to go in the area.
The timeshare has all one-bedroom units that are clean, clean, clean. Eash unit faces the pool and beach. There are no scheduled activities, but we found that we liked the laid-back atmosphere of this small resort better than some of the bigger resorts.

Restaurant

The Seawatch has indoor or outdoor seating in a romatic, nautical atmosphere. It's right on the beach and the ambiance and food are top notch.
