Opryland

Overview

Quote:
The Opryland Hotel is an amazing sight and contains enough sights and sounds to fill in a few days.

Quick Tips:

For a change of pace, the Opryland Mall has a lot of the familiar stores and some unfamiliar. Also there is the opportunity to get a chair massage or spa treatment right in the middle of the mall.

Best Way To Get Around:

If you are going into Nashville and are unfamiliar with the area, I would suggest using taxis, as the routes and signage are very poor. I thought Boston was bad.

The room was very comfortable and spacious. If you can afford the extra $50 per night, I recommend the balconied premium rooms overlooking the 6 acre atrium. The place has to be seen to be believed, with all of its trees, flowers, waterfalls etc. One thing very negative to me was charging $7 per day for self parking. It may seem a small thing when paying $229 per night, but I feel paying guests should not have to pay to park at the hotel.

An excellent, pricy, steakhouse.

Service was very good.

Wife had filet mignon, and I had their priciest, special sirloin. Both cooked perfectly. Skipped dessert because we were headed to the Grand Ole Opry.

Not to be missed. The show is fast-moving with so many acts it is difficult to remember them all. The only "breaks" during the show were for commercials since the show was broadcast live over radio.

We chose this tour from those offered in the Opryland Hotel because I preferred history over the homes of stars. It was very low key and interesting. The rooms of the house could only be viewed through glass panels, which is understandable.
