Best Things Nearby:Restaurants, shopping, themeparks, and International Drive with tons of gift shops. Best Things About the Resort:Clean, plenty to do, and for us was very impressive. This resort is now our home resort.Resort Experience:I liked the layout of the three bedroom and its ability to be used as a lockout. The parking lot is crowded and that is just something you have to get over. I didn't have a real problem beyond on day having to park at the end of the building. It was Bike Week in Daytona and that led to more cars and spaces being used. The accommodations were great. We found that the lake was still not fully set up due to being...Read More

Golden Corral

Restaurant

The food was very filling and we had plenty to eat. There was a good variety and the restaurant had plenty to select from even though we were on the Atkins diet.

This resturant had a varitey that made it easy to stay on a low carb diet. We didn't partake of the desserts but others in our party did and they commented well on the flavor and variety.

Wet 'N Wild

Attraction

Quote:
Wet N Wild is a place that I will go to again but will check if all of the rides are open. Three of the rides were not open including the knee board skiing. I think that when 3 or more are not open it puts undue pressure on the other activities.

The closed rides were under reconstruction and should not be closed long.

If you leave your lunch in the car trunk it will stay cooler and you can enjoy the time. You can get your hand stamped and go to the car with re-entry.

A website for this park is at this link.

I liked all of the attractions and the crowds were down. We had no problem getting around and would go back again. The next time we will go slower and try to see more. A link to the park is at Universal Parks.

The tour was terrific and due to the space shuttle disaster being recent, the trip had more meaning. Unfortuneatly the Nasa Astronaut Museum closed early and we did not get to use our tickets.

You can see more about the center by clicking here.

Didn't know armadillos were native to this area but we saw several. There were also Bald Eagles that were nesting along the bus route.

This is a quick trip from Orlando and well worth the hour drive.

Tickets were $33.00 but you can get 5 dollars off through AAA. You have to get the ticket at the AAA office. You can't get a discount at the center. We blew that.
