Red Rocks of Sedona

A July 2002 trip to Sedona by Reidie

Red Rocks of Sedona

Overview

Quote:
We enjoyed the scenery from a hot air balloon with Balloon Adventures. They pick you up at your door, feed you breakfast after your flight and return you before half the family is even awake. We went to a dinner show at a nearby ranch which was fun. The food was good and the entertainment was old west cowboy songs, comedy, etc. You can shop and have your picture taken in old west style. Just driving into Sedona is worth the trip. The red rocks are gorgeous and everywhere is a photo opportunity. The town is full of western art galleries and has shopping in outlets as well as local shops full of silver jewelry. Nearby is Montezuma's Castle and well where you can explore an old Indian civilizatio...Read More

Best Things Nearby:The Red Rocks of Sedona were enough to be near but the shopping, restaurants and activities were great, too. The Grand Canyon, Montezuma's Castle, state parks, hiking & swimming.Best Things About the Resort:The loft, skylights, private balcony with hot tub, the pools and lots of wonderful memories. The entire unit was a home away from home.Resort Experience:We went on a bonus week and the Villas of Sedona exceded our expectations. We didn't want to leave. The staff was wonderful. The conceirge helped us with all our activity reservations: the train ride, the hot air balloon, even church recommndations. Maintenance even responde...Read More

This is a fun place to eat with the family. The Red Planet's theme is Mars and aliens. The food was delicious and portions were very large.

Your balloon pilot picks you up at your front door at approx. 4am and takes you out to the lift off site. The balloon is laid out and filled with hot air while you watch. You are instructed on how to get into the balloon and then it's time for lift off. Before you know it, you are watching the sun rise over Sedona while gently flying in a hot air balloon. You fly close to the rocks and can see the shadow of the balloon on the red rocks. It's beautiful. The pilot instructs you on the correct positions for landing and you rock back and forth a little bit. It's all very safe and enjoyable. You are taken to a picnic area and given a continental champagne breakfast and your Hot Air Balloon Diploma. I...Read More

We got off the plane in Phoenix and headed for Las Vegas where we spent two nights. We visited Zion National Park and spent the next night in Grand Canyon National park before starting out for Sedona. Coming into Sedona was stunning. The Red Rocks are gorgeous and the scenery just got more spectacular as we got closer. Checking into the timeshare went smoothly and the unit was wonderful. We spent many days just relaxing by the pool before dinner out each evening. This was a wonderful vacation with RCI travel making all plane and car reservations the same day we left. I would recommend Sedona, AZ to anyone, whether they've been there once or many times. It's wort...Read More
