Dallas must do's and dont's

Overview

Quote:
Dallas is a great place to visit. Six Flags, water parks (it can get warm), authentic Tex-mex food, lakes, shopping.

Quick Tips:

Leave several days to explore the attractions. If you have never been to Dallas, try to avoid the area just south of downtown. Every city has a place you should be wary of, and that is the place. Otherwise, have a great time.

Best Way To Get Around:

Car is very important. Public transportation goes to certain places only.

Daddy Jack's

Restaurant | "Daddy Jack's - Nightlife"

Quote:
Seating is limited but the food is good. If you have to wait for a table, the building next door has a bar/nightclub. They will send someone for you when your table is ready.

Surf and Turf is good. Be prepared to see and be seen. This is at the heart of the Greenville night life. Whole area is old buildings that have been refurbished. Parking is difficult but valet is available. Have an earlier dinner and enjoy the local culture.

Just great tex-mex food. Atmosphere is lively and the tortillas are made fresh. Just remember when they say hot, they really mean it! Stuffed jalapeno peppers will make the most dedicated eater cry. Kids get crayons to color. Good kids meals.

Joe's Crab Shack

Restaurant

Quote:
Kids love going there. The waitstaff dance to the music and serve up the food. Lots of lights strung around the place. Looks like a fisherman's wharf with all the tackle and fish hanging on the walls. They give you a bib for cracking the crab legs. Outdoor setting is available with a playground for the kids.

Restaurant | "Endohana - Sushi"

Quote:
Sushi is fresh! What else can I say. The sushi is fresh. They also have a hibachi bar but I can never get past the sushi section. They have a wide assortment of fish. The chefs are great with the kids making sushi "animals" with the food. Good atmosphere.

Six Flags Over Texas

Attraction | "Six Flags"

Quote:
Just opened new Superman ride. Hope you're not afraid of heights!

The mini-mine train is a lot of fun, but don't let the name fool you. This mine train moves at light speed and quick corners. Adults have to hold on with both hands.

Must ride the log ride, person in the front gets most wet.

Park takes all day to enjoy. The park is very beautiful at night and a lot cooler depending on what time of the year.

Concerts are held during the summer, so check the schedule.

Don't forget the funnel cake, giant lollipops, and foot-long hotdogs!

If you're hot, go to the cave. It is one of the few air-conditioned rides in the park.
