Crawfish Country

There is so much to do that it will take more than one trip. We have been many times and try to do something new each time. We've been to Mardi Gras World, where they make the floats and you can try on some of the costumes and take pictures. We have been to the aquarium and have seen fish that you don't see elsewhere. We did a swamp tour and the museums in the French Quarter this last trip and both were fascinating. We have stayed in the Garden District and in the French Quarter and have been pleased with both. We plan to do the walking tour and the plantation tour next time. Of course the food is unforgettable and the people are unforgettable as well.

Quick Tips:

Pat O'Brien's for a mint julip. Praline Connection for Cajun Soul food. Central Market for muffalattas. Mulates for Creole or Cajun - they also have alligator. I have yet to have bad food no matter where we go.

Best Way To Get Around:

We take the trolley or walk wherever we go. There is now a trolley that runs on Canal and connects the French Quarter trolley with the St Charles trolley. You can get transfers and they also have senior fares. Just show your Medicare card and you ride for forty cents.

Best Things Nearby:
The French Quarter is right there. You are at the end of the trolley line. The French Market is one block from the front door.

Best Things About the Resort:
Location and the people that work there. There is very limited parking, but if you are lucky and get a spot it's free.

Resort Experience:
The one bedroom unit is very compact and would be difficult for four. The two bedroom unit is also compact, but does have room for four. I think that six would be a very tight fit. There is an exercise area and a wading pool and also a balcony that looks out onto the French Quarter.
