Overview

25 miles of bicycle trails, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, hiking, 2 golf courses, 22 tennis courts, racquetball and fishing too. You can do just about anything here. Downhill ski on Mt. Bachelor or cross-country ski on the 25 km of groomed trails at the resort.

Quick Tips:

Most of the visitors rent a condo or a private home and spend a week or so. Sunriver Lodge is also an option for shorter stays.

Best Way To Get Around:

Drive to Sun River then park the car and rent a bicycle. It gets rather busy in the summer and traffic can get congested. An airport is on the grounds for those who like to fly small planes.
Overlooking the golf course this is a terrific place to stay. Large well appointed rooms with fireplace and private deck. Very clean with friendly staff.

Attraction

A beautiful 9065' mountain. Snow is dry and plentiful and known to last until mid-June. During the summer months, the Summitt Express takes you to the top of the mountain for wonderful views of the Three Sisters Peaks.

BikingBest of IgoUgo

Story/Tip

Bring your own bike or rent one there, but be sure to take a relaxing ride on the more than 25 miles of paved bike paths. The scenery is terrific and includes the snow-capped peaks of the Cascade Mountains. Pathways run along the river and thru the entire community. Very lovely.

X-Country SkiingBest of IgoUgo

Story/Tip

25 km. of groom trails for Nordic skiing are available here. For the more adventure seeking individual, you can head out for the Deschutes National Forest or the Three Sisters Wilderness areas. Central Oregon is spectacularly beautiful in the snow. Conditions are excellent as the snow is dry.

Whitewater RaftingBest of IgoUgo

Story/Tip

The Deschutes River provides plenty of excitement for rafters. Several options are available including a three hour 'mini-thriller' or an all day trip which includes lunch. Trips leave from the Sunriver Marina. This activity is a lot of fun and well worth checking out. Prices vary according to the type of trip you book.
