Be there and CHILL! Just lounge at Cocos Beach Bar and gaze at the blue Indian Ocean as the warm monsoon breeze wafts in through the palm trees! Or there's jetskiing, waterskiing, bananaboats, sailing, four pools, three bars, and so much space! The staff are brilliant and the food is probably the best I've had in Kenya.

Quick Tips:

Mozzies are not much of a problem at Mombasa with the onshore breeze, but lashings of beer and garlic seems to keep them away from me! Don't be intimidated by the beach boys.

Best Way To Get Around:

I like walking but the matatus (mini buses) are the cheapest for distances. I've been crammed into one of these mad machines squashed up against a large lady with a live chicken on her lap! Not eveyone's cup of tea, but a good way to make friends, which is all they really want to do.

Restaurant

Two restaurants: Pavillions and Minazi.

Pavillions served superb breakfasts with a massive selection of fruit, bread... The egg chef was very special making your own custom made omlettes. Dinners here were usually themed (Indian, Mexican...) or a more regular dish. Again a big selection.

Minazi is a 24 hour restaurant, less formal. Good choice for kids. Filet steak with very good sauces and french fries = £7; Chicken Burger with same = £5; Pizzas = £5... Beer is @ £1.40
