Unlike most timeshares that are multi-unit building, Sutherland offers stand alone, single units. It's like having your own vacation home. Located in Crystal Beach, the units are nestled in mangrove trees along St. Joseph Sound. You are living in a nature preserve that is supported by the Clearwater Aquarium. The privacy and quiet is wonderful, but you are close to all the action.
Each unit has a screened-in porch and private sun deck on the roof. The units are well-maintained. The resort offers a nice outdoor pool and other recreational facilities. You are close to a 40 mile paved bike path and several great beaches like Caladesi Island, voted the fifth best beach in the world, Clearwater Beach, and Howard Beach.
Crystal Beach is just north of Tampa so you have all the attraction of Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater, and Tarpin Springs within an easy drive.
Quick Tips:
If you are workout nuts, like us, don't count on the exercise equipment at the resort (I have seen better equipment in a garage sale). But there is a Bally's Health Club 20 minute away.
For great seafood at a reasonable price try the Thirsty Marlin, about 5 - 10 minutes south of the resort on US19A.
Best Way To Get Around:
You will need a car to get around. There is parking under each unit. The units are built on stilts.
