Shell Vacations Club @ HOLUA RESORT AT MAUNA LOA V

Overview

Quote:
Relax, make lais, go snorkeling. Take a ride to the other side of the Island to see the volcano. Take time to visit the coffee mills and see the black sandy beachs. Try to spend 1 day at Hilton Wakola Hawaiian Villages.

Quick Tips:

Parking is in a lot, and your room may be far away from it. Do not for get to go to the back of the resort to watch the sundown over the water.

Best Way To Get Around:

You will need a car to get around. There is nothing within walking.

The resort is a five-star Gold Crown and is worthy of it. The cars are parked in a lot, but the staff will bring you to your room in a golf cart. We had a lot of fun here.

We did the Blue hawaiian helicopter tour. In my opinion, save your money and do the tour by car. It is very cramped and they postpone a lot of the flights due to weather. The self-guided car tour was great and the long walk at night to the lava flows was well worth it. Get there early because you may have to park a mile away. Also bring a strong flashlight and a walking stick with plenty of water.

There is camping in the area and you have a few palm trees to shade you there. This is a black sand beach and it is hot. It is very easy to find and be sure to visit the coffee mills on the way.

Great free tour with free samples and great coffee that was a bit pricey. Pick a coffee bean from the tree and see how they make coffee from it.

I can not tell you how great it was when we snorkeled near Captain Cook monument. It is a great spot. The fish are about 25 feet below, but you are able to see them as if they are two feet away.
