Madeira Beach - the perfect place for a getaway

Overview

Quote:
I have many memorable moments of my time spent in Madeira Beach. We made our first trip here last December - the week before Christmas. While it was a little too cool for swimming we did walk along the beach several times, especially as the sun was setting. There is only one word to describe it - beautiful. Visiting in December meant there were not as many people around as there is in the warmer months. We visited the museums in St. Petersburg one day, while driving down to Sarasota on another. On another day it was over to Tampa and the next day we went to Clearwater. We enjoyed our time so much and since we didn't get to see everything we wanted - we decided to come back again. And we did in ...Read More

Our room came complete with a king size bed, a his and her recliner and a mini-kitchen. There was also a screened in balcony where you could watch the beautiful Florida sunsets without being eaten up by insects. Our favorite thing about this resort is they cater exclusively to adults year round. They don't allow guests or visitors under the age of 21. The staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. The front office has a book with menus from all local restaurants and the staff is glad to offer their advice on the best places to eat.

This is our favorite place to eat. No matter whether you come for breakfast, lunch or dinner, the food is always good and the help is always friendly. There are great views of John's Pass and of the people walking along the boardwalk.
If you come for breakfast be sure and try Capt. Hubbard's Famous Seafood Omelette. I guarantee you won't go away hungry.
At lunch or dinner I always have their oysters.

This is another great place to eat. This restaurant has several different locations in the Tampa Bay area, although we have only eaten at the one in Madeira Beach.
If you like seafood then you will like Johny Leverock's.
We had a window table the last time we were there and we were able to watch the dolphins as we ate.

This is a great place for both adults and children. Built to resemble a turn of the century fishing village, there are some very unique retail shops and a variety of restaurants. There are also deep sea fishing excursions, boat rentals, parasailing, jet skiing and even a gambling boat.

The boardwalk offers a great way to see the water and watch the boats come and go under the draw bridge at John's Pass.

Be sure and bring your camera because you are sure to want to take home a picture of the numerous pelicans that also call the boardwalk home.

No matter where you go in the Tampa Bay area you will find coupons but one of the best deals I found was the Beach Bucks.

The book had coupons for dining, shopping and entertainment up and down the beaches.
