Overview

The staff was very helpful when it came to setting up day trips, etc. We went to Isla Mujeres for a day of snorkeling. The tour the staff sent us to was great. The boat over was one big party, and it never stopped! I had never snorkled before, and they really took the time to teach me. Best thing I ever did. At the Tumtah restaurant on the grounds of the resort there are mariachi singers every night during dinner. The food there is amazing. We had everything from pizza to seafood. Prices were reasonable. Also took a day trip to Chichen Itza. DO NOT miss this! It was worth the day trip we took.Quick Tips: If you are interested in seeing any sights, get a car. The resort is about 45 minutes...Read More

Best Things Nearby:Don't want to make this sound negative, but the best thing nearby was the ice machine! There is only one per building, and it was right next to our room. We really liked this ...Read More

The Tumtah Restaurant on the ground of the Mayan is truly wonderful. You can eat on the patio by the water or inside under the teepee-like ceiling. We had the seafood pizza one night. It was great! Don't miss the grilled shrimp or the wood-smoked marinated chicked. Prices ranged from about US$14 to about US$24 for a steak. Drinks were average priced. They have wonder mariachi singers every night. The poolside restaurant serves lunch every day. I thought they were more expensive than Tumtah. The Mexican buffet they had one night was not planned very well and the food there was nothing to brag about, but the show they put on was GREAT!! All in all, the Tumtah was one of the best places we ate at all wee...Read More
