OK, so you want to go to Havana? Take my advice, you do have options on how to get there! My first time there, I thought that there was only one way...not true!! Here they are:
Cab$$$$$ -- This is the most expensive way to go, but comfortable and with air-conditioning. I approached several cabbies about this option and the best bartering I could do was $90 US. If this option appeals to you, try harder, I am sure they would do it for less.
Private Cab -- Not as expensive but illegal. If you are adventurous, go for it. Two of my family members used this option and had a terrific time and it only cost them $20/each. The driver spoke almost no English but it was an adventure!

The tour!!! -- If safety and comfort are your thing, this is the best option for you! This way will cost you $60-$130 dollars!
Viazul -- This is a cost-effective way to go about getting there, as it will cost you $10 US dollars. This is an air-conditioned bus that was designed for tourists to use. Go to Viazul for more information.
Hitchiking -- Never tried it myself, but I would not advise against it...it seems like a great way to meet people, but as in any country could be unsafe. Also, this is your cheapest option besides trying to walk it.
Renting a car -- I would not advise this one, I have heard horror stories about people getting in accidents and being unable to leave the country. Also, this option can tally up large costs as gas is expensive and the rental itself can be quite high.
Train -- I know nothing about this one, but check out this website for information:
Cuba Individual.
