An August 2000 trip
to Jamaica by Tenia
Quote: Jamaica was a romantic getaway with white sand beaches, lots of interesting food and drinks (although my husband maintains that the Pepsi just didn't taste the same), and interesting side trips that quickly filled up our week.
We also went to St. Ann's to shop at the market and saw a few of the cruise ships in the port. The highlight of this day was climbing the falls at Dunn's River, Ocho Rios, St Ann. I was really glad that my travel agent had mentioned taking old sneakers to wear since many had trouble with the walking.
Of course one can't visit anywhere in the Caribbean without enjoying the amazing sunsets. One of the best was while we were in Negril visiting Rick's Cafe. Rick's Cafe also advertises that on a clear day you can see all the way to Cuba although it wasn't clear enough for us. We also spent some time watching the cliff divers (40 feet down).
Back at the resort the glass bottom boats were a hit with my husband who does not swim. Every evening, the entertainment was very different from limbo dancing to various musical performances.
