Springbok is venison and as such is a bit gamey. For you entree try the Grilled Ostrich Tournedos at R89.50 (about US$12), the ostrich is grilled pink on a bed of caramelised red cabbage with a redcurrant and ginger sauce and deep-fried potato wedges - if you've never had Ostrich before, and you normally have your beef prepared medium-well to well done, I suggest you have the ostrich prepared medium. Ostrich is a very lean meat and as such must not be overcooked -- otherwise it becomes like leather.
For dessert indulge in the Amarula Tira Mi Su at R28.50 ($3.75). The rich Amarula flavours mascarpone cheese layered with sponge biscuits soaked in espresso and brandy.
They offer an extensive wine list that features some excellent Cape wines as well as a broad selection of after dinner drinks including ports, liqueurs and brandies.
NOTE: Not a place for the children
