Not so Rosey Hilton

A March 2003 trip to Pasadena by lolo boobo

The Pasadena Hilton is an adequate place to stay, but don't expect lavish rooms. The staff and restaurants are nice, but when I paid $20 for a pitcher of beer, I said "no more!" to buying anything at the hotel.

This Hilton is not the best one I've stayed at. The staff did make every effort to help and assist us.

I had reserved a room with 2 double beds because I was travelling with a friend. When checking in I was given a King bed and I had to get them to find me a room with a double.

The highlight (or lowlight) of my stay occurred before I even checked into the hotel. My friend and I had wanted to catch the end of the Lakers-Kings game so we went into the sports bar in the Hilton and got a pitcher of beer. When the bill arrived we faced a stiff $20 tab---ouch!

No more drinking or eating took place in the hotel, except for the beverages we bought and brought into our room. The hotel does have mini-refrigerators in each room so you can save a lot of money by buying your own goodies.

The pool and exercise room were nice. The pool was heated and a small jacuzzi could also keep you warm.

This hotel is 3 blocks from Colorado Blvd and if you need a place not too far to view the Rose Bowl Parade, you could use this as your base. If you are traveling with your family you won't have much room to stretch out but if you are fortunate enough to get a room with a balcony then you will have a little extra room.

My overall rating on this hotel is 1 1/2 stars.
