A March 2003 trip
to Maui by vmwoo
Quote: After few days in Oahu we flew to Maui for a 5-day visit. The flight was scheduled to leave Oahu at 12:15pm. We expected to be in Maui before 1pm. Unfortunately, at the last moment before the plane was about to take off the pilot was informed that there was an oil spill in Maui airport. Then, Maui airport was closed for over an hour for the cleanup.
We ended up landing in Maui at almost 3pm. By the time we arrived at the resort the day was almost over. Fortunately, the resort and the area where we stayed in was so beautiful that I guess it more or less compensated our displeasure from earlier in the day.

The resort was built around the golf course. The landscape was splendid from the resort entry to the building. Many trees and many beautiful flowers were planted everywhere in the property. We felt that we were in a botanical garden.
Our unit had 3 bedrooms, spacious living and dining room, well equipped kitchen and a L-shaped deck furnished with sundeck table and chairs. The unit was clean, well decorated and was backed to the golf course about 50 yards to its 7th green. This unit must be over 1800 sq. ft. from my estimation. Each of the rooms was spacious. The master bedroom ensuite was huge and nicely arranged. There were 3 televisions. The unit even had beach chairs, umbrellas and couple of bamboo seat rollout for occupant to use.
The resort has two indoor pools in its property. The Wailea beach was not too far from the resort and within walking distance. The Wailea Golf Club had two par-72 courses where there were many vacation resorts built around them.
The only inconvienent staying in this resort was that the closest grocery store was 15 minutes away by car.
