Experience

New Orleans has something for everyone. Bourbon Street was a non-stop party with many clubs and bars with "no cover" and "3 for 1 deals." For people who don't like crowds, there's Esplanade, Royal St., etc., etc., etc...infinity.

The highlight was when, shortly after arriving at hotel, I finally stepped onto Bourbon Street. There is a life energy that seeps into the soul. Packed with tourists, college kids, etc., the options for the night were almost overwhelming.

Quick Tips:

After spending a few hours on Bourbon Street, explore the surrounding streets...don't forget Jackson Square--any time of the day or night!

Best Way To Get Around:

Walk if you're staying in the quarter. Take the St. Charles Streetcar, just because! You'll see beautiful houses and will get a chance to relax your feet.

Most awesome karaoke ranging from country to rock. Best sing-a-long I've joined in a long time. The emcees rocked and everyone was all about the fun!

French Market

From beginning to end, the French Market is a shopping delight. You can get almost everything you'll need to dress festive on Bourbon Street, including masks at amazing prices. Then, when you want a snack, the Farmer's Market is right there. Or relax at the little cafe and listen to live music.

Life Changing Visit

Experience

I decided in January that I no longer enjoyed the current city I live in. So I wanted to move to New Orleans. Of course, I had never even been there. So I planned my vacation there to take a look around. My planning included web searches galore, including this sight.

I read good and bad. It's funny, but the "bad" things I read from other people never happened to me. I didn't have a single bad experience there. No one tried to scam me, not even the FEW homeless. In fact, as far as the homeless, there were far few than people have said. And the most they ever said to me was, "Hey there! Howya doing?" Everyone was amazing to me. I shook hands and hugged people all weekend.

Overall, New Orleans is fabulous. Even on a bad day, it's no worse than where I live now.
