Overview
Restaurant
No German restaurant would be complete with their beer selection. The Black Forest has a fine selection German and local brews. My friends and I love to go on a warm summer evening, get a table on the cobbled patio (complete with greenery and fountain!) and order some spaetzel with gravy and a Hacker-Pschorr dark beer and gossip.
Their web site, Black Forest lists their complete menu as well as a few of their recipes! They have permanent daily specials that can be good to try. The rouladen served on Saturdays used to be a favorite of mine (a beef rolls stuffed with pickle, carrot, onion and bacon), but lately has been overly dry. Rather disappointing, but definintly a rarity.
The atmosphere inside is a little over the top. It has a dark-wood bar feeling with brightly painted dwarves, etc. on the beams. It has a jolly feeling and adds to the experience. After a couple of beers you may get to know some of those dwarves a little better!
