On the go in Orlando

On the go in Orlando

Overview

Quote:
They say Disney World is for kids of all ages, and that is so true. Our children and their spouses met us in Orlando and we were on the go every day. We visited four parks in two days. We had a blast just spending time with our kids, but it was also fun to see how they turned into little kids again when deciding what rides to do first. They even wanted to stand in line to have their picture done with some of the characters. I think everyone at some time should take a vacation to Disney. It doesn't matter what age you are cause when you step through those gates, the kid in you comes out.Quick Tips: It's best to do the real popular rides first or get a Fast Pass, which was great. When doing a F...Read More

Best Things Nearby:This place was so handy for places to eat. There is a Cracker Barrel, Chili's, Ramono's, Uno's, CVS, and the dreaded Krispy Kreme storeBest Things About the Resort:I had booked three units at this resort and they did everything to make sure we were all in the same area. We loved the fact of so many things close by to walk to. Our kids liked the fact that if they didn't want to go out to eat, everything was available in the units.Resort Experience:This was one of the nicest Fairfield's we have stayed at. The grounds are beautiful & everything is kept up. If we had a problem in any unit, we called and someone was over within the hour. The ...Read More

This is such a cool place to eat. We were told to make reservations the day before which we did as very busy for dinner. You can take your chances while there, but it always seemed to have long waiting list.

The coconut shrimp was fantastic and their specialty drinks aren't bad either. You even get a new glass when ordering to take home. A word of caution though, every half hour they have a thunderstorm. Some kids started crying as they afraid of the storm and noise. If nothing else, go inside and look around. It's a cool place.

While in Epcot we wanted to try one of the restaurants. If you love mexican food, this is the place for you. As soon as you sit down, they bring you salsa and chips. Some of the salsa was on the warm side. A margarita is a must, they're great here. You sit with the backdrop of a volcano erupting. If you're not that crazy about mexican, you might want to pass. The menu is limited on other choices.

We booked this through the resort, and it was $8 per person including picking you up at the resort and taking you to Port Canaveral to board the boat. It was about an hour drive each way for a total trip of over six hours. We didn't get back to the resort until after 1am, and people were not happy as they were told it was a shorter trip.

If you are really into gambling, this is something you might want to do. For the price it wasn't bad, and we even managed to come out on the plus side. The downside for me was the cigarette smoke.

Remember when going to Orlando you will never get to see or do everything. If you tried then your vacation could be ruined as you'd be so tired. Have each person pick out something they would like to do. Use the resort services when booking things to do or see. We had them do our reservations when at Disney. Watch out for all the little booths that offer discounts on tickets. They are for doing a timeshare and the 90 minute talk can last for over three hours. We did one and what a mistake. Ended up walking out as they were rude and pushy. If you don't mind this, then try one as some do have good deals. The main thing to remember is have fun and take it easy. Disney World is packed all the ti...Read More
