Our two bedroom unit was spacious but cozy and had a cottage feel. Facilities was adequate but not impressive. The town of Stowe has everything you need to make you feel welcome. Swisspot

Restaurant

Quote:
We had high expectations going into the Swisspot, as we were looking forward to some fondue fun. They offer several types of fondue: traditonal cheese & variants, beef cubes, an Oriental-style beef, and vegetable I believe. If you haven't gotten enough, go for the chocolate fondue dessert. The wine selection was quite varied and the staff very helpful.

I highly recommend the Swisspot for a relaxing evening.

Gracie's

Restaurant

Quote:
Gracie's is a bar/restaurant with a clever dog theme. They specialize in beef and seafood entrées, you can even purchase bulk meats from the butcher shop they have. I had a Swiss burger with a hot pepper relish that was out-of-this-world. With a good selection of local, domestic and imported brews, Gracie's is the place that satisfies after a day on the slopes.

Vermont has really made the most of this winter, the snow has not stopped falling. Stowe had good coverage all week, with one excellent powder day. If it does snow, try Upper Spruce, there are some beautiful runs if you step outside the lines.

The quad is the fastest way up the mountain which leads to some black mogul runs. We stayed mostly on the blue cruisers which led right to the park and pipe, which is HUGE!!

Crowds were nonexistant midweek, and the gondola had some waits but none more than a minute.

Snowshoeing Tours

Attraction

We took the Moonlight Cabin Tour from Umiak Outfitters, it ran $35. You start at the shop where you get your gear, then a van to the hiking spot. Suit up and your guide leads you through a nice trail, pointing out any wildlife tracks or other interesting details.

You stop off at a cabin for some hot apple cider, cheese & crackers, smores and the Vermont special, "sugar on ice". A quick hike and your back at the van. Good for your first time snowshoeing, I wouldn't recommend it for someone who has done it before.
