The best thing is that the model village is still there. Everything from houses, shops, churches is crafted to scale down to finest detail. Easier for the children to see as most of the buildings are at their level and there is plenty of detail to see. The village is ideal for children but anyone who enjoys craftmanship will also get a lot out of a trip here. I decided to re-visit Ramsgate where I hadn't been since on family holidays as a small boy. It was a typical English seaside resort beloved of the working classes until we discovered Spain and other sun drenched beaches. So much and so little has changed. Ramsgate is easy to get to; down the A2/M2 from London in an hour. It has an attractive harbour full of small craft and yachts. Even the Customs House is still there for Ramsgate is still a working port. We ate a perfect English breakfast on a pavement cafe, next to the Lifeboat station - eggs, bacon, sausage, bread and beans fried to perfection with a mug of tea served in a most pleasant manner.
