Birthday Celebration in New Orleans

Overview

Quote:
Our most favorite meal was shared at Petunia's where we had the best breakfast either of us had ever had! The breakfast Bloody Mary was not only beautiful to look at, the taste was out of this world!

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

Walking is the best way to get around this city of compact streets and limited parking. Tho' it was quite chilly for us beach bunnies in mid January, we really enjoyed walking the streets and enjoying the sights--people, especially, and the intriguing bars and buildings, usually with drinks in hand as this is a very laid-back place to be.

The suite was beyond New Orleans shabby elegance, which can be quite charming in the French Quarter. The room was cramped and not in very good condition. Appliances were dented, scratched, and stained. A bathroom cabinet appeared to be falling from the ceiling! The most unfortunate experience we had was theft from our locked room! Unfortunately, management seemed quite unconcerned. As a result we felt the need to leave two days early. The very best part of the hotel was our own personal suite mouse which stayed with us the entire time! We felt it was probably an ancestor of generations who have lived in the nether regions of the hotel. It was quite cute, ate very little--a few kernels of popcorn,...Read More

Best Things Nearby:The Gulf of Mexico, The Atlantic Ocean, Mallory SquareBest Things About the Resort:The Marina is outstanding - apparently the only one in Key West with floating docks. Tho' pricey it has everything a boater, fisherman and vacationer could possibly want waterwise. The young couple who owns the jet ski/boat rentals shop were extremely friendly and fun to talk with. Employees of the resort were friendly (tho' a little inefficient). Our favourite, next to the jet ski couple, was our timeshare rep. She was fun, enthusiastic, extremely good with follow through, full of tips and tricks for the resort, Key West and general timeshare enjoyment overall. The che...Read More

Excellent-the best breakfast either one of us had ever had. The Bloody Marys were picturesque enough to be a magazine cover and tasted even better! We were sorry to discover this hide away as our last meal. If it had been one of the first places we ate we may not have eaten any where else!
