Bushkill Falls is a wonderful nature walk and offers miniature golf or paddle boating for a day's excursion. There are several water parks in the area for hot weather - one at Shawnee and another at Camelback Ski Area. Shawnee is designed for the younger kids, but adults can have fun too - it doesn't get terribly crowded. Check out their website before you go for possible specials or discounts. Camelback is larger and has rides with more impact - it can be an adventure. There is also outlet shopping, candle-making shops, and antique dealers nearby. Many, many golf courses in the area and various restaurants ranging from fast food chains to local mom-and-pops.

Need a car to truly enjoy the area. Lots to do, from shopping - to golf, hiking, and kids amusements’ - go carts and arcades.

Best Things Nearby:
Water parks at Camelbach and Shawnee. Dorney amusement park is not far away in Allentown. Camelback ski and Shawnee ski in winter. Outlet shopping and antiquing in candle shops. Golf and fish in summer.

Best Things About the Resort:
Nice swimming pools outside. Also indoor swimming pools, but they're not all heated. You can walk from some units to the arcade and hotel complex for restaurants. There's also paddle boats and evening entertainment.

Resort Experience:
Fernwood Resort oversees all and the amenities. You need a car to get to all at the resort, but there is also a trolley service with limited times. Some kids activities and some evening entertainment available.

This is a quaint restaurant that was once a train terminal. Great entertainment for kids--as they eat they can watch a model train spiral around the dining room overhead. The lemon poppy-seed dressing and the home-baked breads are awesome! Fun and affordable.

There is a children’s menu and it is a child-friendly atmosphere. It can get crowded on weekends so you may want to call ahead.
