A March 2002 trip to Nassau by Rick_E

The best condo on Cable Beach. Private, spacious, and close to the action.

Best Things Nearby:
Casino, many restaurants, grocery shopping and other shopping.

Best Things About the Resort:
Space and privacy. Ocean units are described, but the garden units have a different layout, but are still generously sized and well-appointed.

Resort Experience:
Ocean units have three bedroom units on three floors. Spiral stairs to second and third floors. Full kitchen, dining and living areas plus half bath on first floor as well as a semi-private sun deck on front of unit and a high fenced private patio in rear. Washer and dryer are enclosed in shed on rear patio. On second floor, large master bedroom with king bed with "french balcony" overlooking sun deck in front (just a huge window with a false balcony).

There's three ample closets and large private bath together with second bedroom with two twin beds and private bath in rear of unit. On the third floor is a third bedroom with sliding glass doors, fully opening out onto a private sundeck, with large walk-in closet, and third private, full bath.

Do not miss their Lobster Thermidor and the Coq au Vin. Ecletic sea-faring decor amidst intimate dining areas. Limited a la carte menu of outstanding food. Attentive service, but definitely on "island time" so expect a relaxed dining experience.

Fabulous dining in a restored mansion in old Nassau. Start with fresh baked French bread. Wonderful seafood, steaks, and souffles are available, and to finish, the best baked Alaska on the island.

We went out on a 57 foot sailing catamaran. You can go for a half or full day (Sunday is the best choice). There's cruises to Rose Island for diving. They serve either a buffet meal or snack, with drinks available.

Captain Craig owns the vessel and usually pilots it on the trips. He'll often let a young person steer the boat while underway. The captain is very gregarious and makes the trip a real pleasure. The crew is always friendly and extremely accommodating. As part of the price, they will pick you up and return you to your hotel or condo.
