Quote: Our original reason for traveling to Hua Hin was to visit some friends who own a bar called U-Turn. We were VERY pleasantly surprised to find a town that offered something completely different from the polluted Bangkok and seedy Pattaya that we had left behind.

There is a reason that this is the King's part time residence...IT IS BEAUTIFUL! We took a milkrun bus from Bangkok to Hua Hin which took about four hours. This was a good way to go because the scenery was amazing and tropical! The market at night had a lot of good shopping and great food considering the size of Hua Hin. Quick Tips: I would take a taxi from Bangkok if I was going to Hua Hin again. It is an easier way to travel and much more comfortable. If you are used to expensive cabs rides where you live, you will be shocked at by this...a three and half hour cab ride from Bangkok to Hua Hin was only CDN (which is roughly US). It was a smaller bar with a few tables and a pool table. They have an outdoor area (a garden) that you can sit at to drink under the stars. They claim to have the coldest Singha in Thailand (they keep their beer in a deep freeze). This bar was charming and the staff were very personable. This was the type of place that you could end up solving the world's problems in over a cold Singha with a complete stranger.I am a pub person, but if you are looking for a happening night club, this is not for you.
