A night away in Nottingham

A January 2003 trip to Nottingham by CarolineJulia

I had a stop over in Nottingham ahead of a business meeting & found a gem of a place to stay!

Only staying the one night limited me somewhat, but Millers is a good place to eat.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

I found driving around easy & with good clear signposting.
Not many budget places give you a six-foot bed, but this one does! The rooms are generously sized and will comfortably sleep a family of four. The rooms are brightly decorated in shades of blue, there's a good sized work area, a modem point, telephone and TV. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided. The bathroom has a bath with a shower attachment and shower gel is provided from a wall dispenser.

The reception staff is friendly and helpful and gives excellent directions. Ask for a room over looking the carpark to avoid possible noise from the main road.

Restaurant | "Millers"

At Millers you choose your own table, order the food from the bar and then the bar staff brings it to you when ready. All the portions come in mini, midi or maxi sizes -- ideal for a family dining with children or those with large or very small appetites, as all will be satisfied! There's a varied and large selection for all courses.

I started with a salad nicoise, which was very fresh and crisp, followed by the Chinese crispy duck, which was a little disappointing not being very crispy, but the lime cheesecake more than made up for that. There's everything from Tex Mex to Indian to Chinese to traditional British on the menu. There's also a selection of about 12 different wines by the glass. If you're staying at the hotel next door you can charge your meal to the room.
