A Flash back to Communism!

A July 2002 trip to Budapest by Bev'sTravels

We drove from Prague to Budapest, and on to Vienna. Each city was at one time a world class capital in Central Europe. Budapest really gave us a taste of the Communist era.

The Pension was inexpensive but adequate. It was located extremely conveniently by one of the main train stations in Budapest, and busses stopped a few doors down the street. There was secure parking a block away for $7 per night.

We had a small room with double bed, private bath, cable TV, refrigerator, and tiny freezer. Hot breakfast was free in the dining room. Internet use was also free. The staff and guests were wonderfully friendly. There were also inexpensive rooms where backpackers stayed very reasonably. Make a reservation before arriving - they are busy. I made the reservation through the internet site, Holiday Hungary.
