Timeshare in Cancun

A January 2003 trip to Cancun by abbyand

Mayan Palace / Riviera Maya Soon to be a beautiful resort, but at this time it is still under construction. No view of the ocean from our room and many others. Quite remote yet extremely simple to get to Playa del Carmen or Cancun. Exquisite pools!

Best Things Nearby:
Mayan ruins, Isla Mujeres, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen.

Best Things About the Resort:
Great accomodations. Exquisite pools. Partial kitchens. Lots and lots to do.

Resort Experience:
A huge, rambling resort. There is soon to be a Jack Nicklaus golf course. There are restaurants, gift shops, a grocery store, and a hair salon. It's very well- kept. Kid's and adult's activities are offered throughout the day.

There is a handful of Mayan Palace resorts throughout Mexico. This one is still under construction but will be beautiful when completed. There's a great web site for info ().

Restaurant

We were looking for a place for lunch, strolling along 5th ave in Playa del Carmen. They offered an $8.00 USD lunch special with salad, fresh fish, sides and dessert. My husband wanted grilled shrimp, which they had along with many other choices. I was very brave and ordered the local "Mexican plate." This combo plate included grilled chicken in mole, cheese chile relleno, quesadilla, chicken taco (rolled), napalito salad, rice and beans for $8.50 USD and it was fabulous! Also included were chips and pico de gallo.
