Fabulous week at Walt Disney World at a gorgeous resort!

Sheraton's Vistana Resort

They have wonderful accommodations. At first we were given an older, not so great room in a not so great location, but when I inquired about switching to a newer room, it was no problem. Huge master suite with a balcony, large living space, and second bedroom with two twin beds - plenty of room for our six year old and all of her stuff! Full kitchen, two bathrooms, and a washer and dryer. The resort has several pools, some busier than others, and one with a waterslide where we spent most of our time. There were also several exercise rooms with a good assortment of equipment.

All Star Music Resort

It has cozy, fairly plain rooms, two double beds, small table and chairs, and a washroom. Nothing special, but what makes this hotel special is that you are on the Disney Transportation line, which saves an incredible amount of time getting into the theme parks. No parking, no walking from your car, and no parking fees. The drink mugs are a good deal - buy one and refill again and again for free the whole time you are there, but only at the hotel, not the theme parks.

Best Things Nearby:
Walt Disney World, Belz Factory Outlet Mall, and Downtown Disney.

Best Things About the Resort:
Beautiful grounds, great rooms, and lots of pools.

Resort Experience:
This is a very nice resort with lots to do. It came with a fully-equipped kitchen and a washer and dryer, which came in very handy for a week's stay.

There is a gated entrance where you must show proof that you are a hotel guest to enter the resort. It was quiet, even though it's near a major road.

The spacious room was nicely decorated. We loved having a separate room for our daughter and having a TV in our master suite so we could each watch something different when we were winding down for the night.

Best Things Nearby:
Walt Disney World.

Best Things About the Resort:
Quiet, secluded location, roomy accommodations, full kitchens, and washer and dryer.

Resort Experience:
This is a nice place with several pools, some quieter than others. One had a waterslide. It's further from Walt Disney World than we would have preferred, but close enough to lots of restaurants, shops, and grocery stores.

Chef Mickey's Breakfast

We have done this several times and always love it. It's a great way to see a lot of characters and get some (somewhat) undivided attention for your child. Please keep in mind that the goal of every character is to get around to every table - sometimes things happen and tables get missed. Please don't butt in on someone else's time with the characters. Get the attention of the attendant with the character and "politely" ask them to come back. Even though the emphasis is on character greeting, the food was really very good!

Universal Studios Islands of Adventure

This is the place in Orlando for wilder rollercoaster rides. They are nicely laid out, there's lots to see and do, and interesting shops to browse through. They took a few lessons from Disney, and it shows! The younger the kids, the more time you should allot for this park. It is a lot to see and do.

DisneyWorld

Experience

Our family loves Disney World! We have visited eight times in the last six years!

Don't plan to spend less than a week and even then, if it is your first time, you will be able to take in Disney World only - don't even try to see Universal or Sea World or Busch Gardens (we have been to all of these as well). Be sure to get on the internet and plan your vacation so you know what there is to see and are not overwhelmed.

The ticket price seems prohibitive, but it really is an incredible value...certainly a full day of entertainment! Enjoy!
