Las Vegas Mini-Vacation

A December 2003 trip to Las Vegas by kattyjo

I went to Vegas to bring my stepchildren home, but I still had a fabulous time as always.

A place I definitely enjoyed seeing is the Green Valley Ranch Hotel and Casino in Hederson, NV, about ten minutes off the strip - it is absolutely amazing.

Quick Tips:

Shopping is always a plus in Vegas. They have a decent outlet center with great prices.

Best Way To Get Around:

Depending on the amount of people you are with, I would say a limo is the best way to get around. If you are in a large group of four or more, cabs charge per person per mile, so if you are going from one end of the strip to the other it could cost as much as a limo. So I would say limo just for the fun of it. Limo's usually charge between - 40 per hour.

They were five star accommodations. It had beautiful rooms with beautiful views. The hotel and casino were elaborate. The pool is awesome, rated #1 in Las Vegas.

Bertolini's Authentic TrattoriaBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Bertolinos"

The restaurant is in the middle of Ceasars Forum. You can sit indoors (in the restaurant) or out in the forum. The sky changes even though it is indoors, and it is in the center of everything. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is great, it's reasonable priced, and the service is good too.

Restaurant | "Green Valley Ranch Buffet"

It was an excellent brunch buffet. A little more expensive then some buffets, but this was worth it. The hotel is beautiful and the food was great.

Restaurant | "Carluccio's"

This was Liberace's restaurant. It is right behind the Liberace Museum. Food is outrageous. The price is cheap and it's quiet - a real family place.

Restaurant | "RIO Hotel All-You-Can-Eat Buffet"

I think the Rio Buffet was so overrated. They say it is rated #1 in Las Vegas, but I didn't care for it too much. Because it is so popular the lines were so long and the food wasn't that great. It isn't that cheap either.

Attraction | "Shark Reef"

It's an aquarium in a hotel that is wonderful. They have a walkway through where all the sharks and exotic fish are, and it goes overhead, kind of like you're walking through the tank. It is really worth the money.
