We had just one week of vacation and chose to spend 4 days on the island of Kauai and 3 days on Oahu. It was a vacation we will never forget.

Best Things Nearby:
The best thing about the north shore is its beauty. The beaches have to be some of the most beautiful anywhere.

Best Things About the Resort:
We had a one-bedroom unit with a loft, which was perfect for us. Our two adult daughters traveled with us and they each had a double bed in the loft. The folks at the activities desk were very helpful in planning our days for us. It was very quiet and peaceful.

Resort Experience:
We arrived after dark, so we had no idea what the scenery was like until the next morning. When I went out, it took my breath away. The mountains were on one side and the ocean on the other. Everything was so green and lush and beautiful. The condo itself was very nice. We had plenty of room and two very nice lanais. One was off the living room, and the other off the bedroom.

The tour was about five and half hours long. Our family of four set sail at about 8am on the fifty foot catamaran "Spirit of Kauai" with about 35 other people on January 14, 2003. It was a beautiful day and we weren't even out of the harbor when whales were spotted, followed by dolphins and sea turtles. We motored around the west coast and reached the Na Pali Coast, set anchor, and enjoyed snorkeling and a deli-style lunch buffet.

After lunch we started to head back. The crew unfurled the sail and we were able to sail for a short time. However, the winds had picked up to the point where we had to motor back to port.

The crew was very professional regarding the safety of the boat and the passengers, but were very fun and accommodating as well.

We would recommend a tour of this nature. The ocean can get rough at times, especially during the winter months. For those that cannot handle a rough sea we would recommend taking something for motion sickness the night before or start with a shorter tour.

You can bet we would do this again!

We couldn't have picked a better day to do this tour as the weather was perfect and the mountains weren't obscured by clouds.

We were greeted by Auntie Mylie at the check-in site. She is one unforgettable character with her stories and music. As you are waiting for your flight she makes a tea leaf lei to protect you during your flight.

Our pilot, Warren, was very professional and did an excellent job of explaining the tour, which encompassed the entire island. A musical background is provided during the tour, which makes it a very moving experience.

We were told before the tour "one must see Kauai from the air". We truly understand that statement now and would highly recommend this tour.
