Christmas in St. Martin

A December 2002 trip to St. Maarten/St. Martin by Gail Johnson

We went to St. Martin for Christmas and would love to let folks know that there is a difference between the French side versus the Dutch side.

This was a villa that was located on Oriente Beach. It was beautiful and full of activity and food at your fingertips. The people were wonderful and accommodating. It was a bit expensive, but well worth it. We paid approximately $600 per night for a two-bedroom villa that was on the beach.

Best Things About the Resort:

Resort Experience:
I would not recommend this timeshare. We were very disappointed with its quality. It is a resort that has lost its gleam and could use much updating. We also found out that the French side of St. Maartin is much more desirable than the Dutch side. In our opinion, the French side seemed to be more updated and the selection of restaurants was better.

Le CottageBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

The food at Le Cottage was excellent, as were all the restaurants on the French side in the section of Grand Case. We will go back to St. Martin just to visit more restaurants.
