Malaysia - Truly Asia!

A February 2002 trip to Kuala Lumpur by HirenG

I first visited Malaysia with my wife in 1996. It was a beautiful country the and we had a fantastic time at KL as well as Genting Highlands where we stayed at the Genting View Resort. I again visited in March 2002 with a friend of mine and was amazed at the changes in KL during these 4 yrs.

Best Things Nearby:
Famous Genting Highland resort with the Casino and amusement park, both indoors and outdoors. Lots of fun, both for children as well as adults.

Best Things About the Resort:
It's a large and beautiful property, green year round, with a very pleasant climate.

The units alloted to us during our visit in November 1996 were just behind the club house (the units usually alloted to RCI members were under repair then). Large living room with TV, video, etc., a dining area, a kitchen (fully equipped) on the ground floor and three bedrooms on the first floor, one being a master bedroom.

Resort Experience:
We spent five days at the resort and had a really relaxing time. The unit was fantastic but the resort facilities were just great.

The pool at the clubhouse (they had two other pools as well) was good, they had a badminton court, a squash court, tennis courts, a gym, and a video cassette library.

The resort provided complimentary shuttle services to the lower point of the cable car (where the Awana Hotel is situated) and, if needed, right up to the main amusement park and casino building as well.

Thus overall, the experience was excellent.

Attraction | "KL Tower and Petronaz Towers"

In addition to the above, the shopping mall on the lower floors is huge and contains quite a few restaurants with different cuisines. Thus, it's easy to spend a full day visiting the Petronaz Towers and the KL Tower.

Commuting to these has also become convenient now due to train stations being just outside the Petronaz towers.
