In Autumn it was quiet, tranquil and rained often. You can take fascinating trips to nearby small towns, mercados and historical sights. The people of Portugal are friendly. The roads are perfect, the rest stops frequent and immaculate and when you tire of the local seafood, there is pizza, etc. available. Not to be missed is a 3 hour trip to World Heritage/UNESCO site Evora, a medieval walled city. Lisboa is a lovely city with parks and great shopping.
