Cabo San Lucas is a place to relax yet feel like you are apart of a community. BUT, don't forget to let loose a night or two.

Rent a car for a day or two and head north of Cabo. It is my understanding that there are several small art communites/towns that are incredible to visit. That is if you like art!

Quick Tips:

Make sure your hotel is located in Cabo San Lucas. I heard many stories about people booking hotels in Los Cabos. Apparently, many have made the mistake, or they were given incorrect information, but Los Cabos is about 20 - 25 minutes away from Cabo San Lucas. If you were planning on spending your entire vacation at your resort, then this wouldn't be a concern of yours. But if you wanted to be close to the city, then you would need to pay for a taxi to Cabo San Lucas, which could get a bit pricey!! I think the taxi fare is around - 20 ONE WAY. Unless you get a group, it isn't worth it!!

Best Way To Get Around:

As long as you are staying in Cabo San Lucas, walk. Enjoy the closeness of everything, the beach, the dirt roads. Walk..you shouldn't be in a hurry!

Pueble Bonito Rose

*The hotel rooms were very nice: balcony, living area, kitchen/dining, tile throughout, nice shower/bathroom, very clean!

*Every room overlooked the pool AND had a view of the ocean.

*On-site grocery! An awesome option if you want to make your breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

*The poolside entertainment wasn't that great, but my mom and I sure did enjoy tequila volleyball.

*The employees were all VERY nice and helpful!

Romeo & Julieta's

Who would have thought to have Italian in Mexico, but this is a MUST! I met a couple at the resort I stayed at (Pueble Bonito Rose). She was originally from Cabo. She recommended this hidden Italian restaurant.

The Ceasar salad is so good! They make it right in front of you. You cannot leave Cabo without having this salad. Everything about this place was nice - the people, the food, the atmosphere. Take advantage of this one!

Baja Cantina

Restaurant

Baja Cantina

This place lets you get away from the pushy hosts and hostesses who work for the restaurants located right in the heart of Cabo. I found them very annoying, and was relieved to find places where I could relax at and not feel like I was bartering for my meal.

*There's also a bar attached to the resaurant. It seemed like it would be a fun place to spend time at, but we had other plans for the evening.
*The food here was very good. Apparently, if you are a fisherman, you can bring in your catch of the day and have it cooked for you.
*The atmosphere was very nice as well. The restaurant is open to the atmosphere, so you get a very nice breeze off the bay.
*I highly recommend the Lands End drink. It is similar to the Long Island, but BETTER!!! Mmmm-Mmmm-Mmmm!
*The fish tacos were to die for!! Don't leave without having one of the tacos!!

Pancho's

If you like tequila . . . well, even if you don't like tequila . . . YOU HAVE TO GO TO PANCHO'S!! It has the largest tequila bar in the world, serving over 450 options! Talk with the bartender; he will answer all of your questions. I recommend sampling four or five of the tequilas (no excuses . . . my mom did it!).

The two that I would recommend are:
1. Home-Brewed Tequila--Pancho's lets its home tequila sit in an old Johnny Walker barrel. Yum-Yum!!
2. Try the tequila sitting in a 5-gallon pickle jar located on the bar. Don't mind the rattlesnake laying peacefully in the bottom. :-) Once again . . . it's a must!!

Giggling Marlin

You want a funny show!! Show up at the Giggling Marlin around 9:30 - 10pm (check on the time, you don't want to miss any part of the show). They have an awesome show where they pull people from the audience! A perfect way to set the tone of your vacation - good times and lots of laughter! Once the show is over, get ready to dance! Lots of energy! Great crowd!

El Squid Roe

One word to define El Squid Roe...Crazy! Spend time reading the signs throughout. They are quite funny! The place gets absolutely packed and the crowd is quite young, so be prepared to get a little sweaty! I am still in awe over those girls that came out of there looking like a million bucks. When I left, you could literally ring out my hair! It is a place you need to experience at least once.

Love Shack

Small town pub atmosphere. The music is fairly loud, but what isn't in Cabo at 3am??? Great place though if you are looking for the casual bar, or need a place to unwind at after spending an evening in CaboWabo or El Squid Roe.

Lovers Beach

Activity

Lover's Beach/Divorce Beach

One side of the beach is named Lover's Beach because the waves are very calm and relaxing. On the other side of the beach, the waves are just the opposite. These waves are large and ferocious, which explains the name, Divorce Beach. You need to take a boat to get there. There's not much to do, except enjoy the magnitude of the waves, lie in the sun, snorkel, and pick up some nice shells. The boats come every hour or so . . . you simply get on one of the boats when you are ready to leave. THERE IS NO PROTECTION FROM THE SUN, SO COME PREPARED!!!

It can get quite crowded, so you may want to ask one of the guides or your hotel activities coordinator when the beach would be less populated.
